Kaffe Fassett: Dreaming In Color - An Autobiography
Kaffe Fassett, a captivating storyteller with a vivid memory, has led an extraordinary life. In this intimate autobiography, Fassett shares detailed stories about his lifelong creative journey as well as hundreds of glorious photos taken along the way.
Discover the rich influence of his childhood in California, where his parents founded Nepenthe Restaurant, his turn at a boarding school run by the disciples of Krishnamurti and his painting studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
After settling in England, an inspiring trip to Scotland led Fassett to design knitwear for Bill Gibb, the Missonis, Vogue magazine and more. In the process, he revolutionized the handknitting world with his explosive use of color. Further explorations led him to needlepoint, mosaics, rugmaking, tapestries, yarn and fabric design, costume and set design, and quilting.
